The decision to build Tesla's battery factory in Reno, Nevada, may not be good for the Golden State as a whole, but Sacramento may actually see some benefits.

Sacramento is the biggest metro area west of Reno, and because of the I-80 corridor between there and the City of Trees, we may be seeing more green.

John Boyd -- with The Boyd Company, which provides location counseling for corporations -- says Tesla's suppliers and warehousing companies may choose to locate in that corridor.

That would not only be a boost in jobs and the tax base on this side of the California/Nevada border, but would increase economic development in the hospitality industry and tourism, especially in the Lake Tahoe area.
