A Sacramento neighborhood continues to fight the Sacramento City Council over a proposed psychiatric facility.

The Woodlake Neighbors Creating Transparency have filed a California Environmental Quality Act action, saying that the area where the construction would take place is environmentally sensitive and that the construction could damage levees in the area.

The battle is over the construction of a new high-security psychiatric facility with an outpatient drug and alcohol treatment component that would be built on Exposition Parkway between Highway 160 and the American River.

Residents of Woodlake, the neighborhood where this will be built, have been fighting the project since it was re-zoned last July.
