Expect to see more police patrols in Sacramento in response to a recent spike in gang violence.
It was all set off on March 15 when a member of an Oak Park gang was jumped by members of a Mack Road gang at the Arden Fair Mall.
Since then, there have been five shootings resulting in seven injuries. Police consider at least three of those shootings to be retaliations tied to the incident at the mall.
The Sacramento Police Department tells the Sacramento Bee that officials are increasing patrols in the Mack Road area, as well as in, and around, Oak Park.
As far as the Arden Fair Mall, head of security Steve Reed says the beating was an isolated incident and that patrons can still feel safe.
