A Peace Corps volunteer from Sacramento is back home, after growing concerns of the Ebola Virus prompted evacuations in Western Africa.

He says he was never in any danger, but the Peace Corps was not going to take any chances.

Dawson Jopes, 25, traveled two straight days back to Sacramento from Sierra Leone, after being put on standby.

Jopes says there were quarantined and contained cases of Ebola in the African city of Bo, where he was stationed.

Since he's been home, he's been trying to educate the public about the virus and believes with proper isolation and newly developed medications, the disease should be controllable if it reaches the United States.
