Analysts at Homeowners Insurance.com also give us high marks for the number of homes built within the last 10 years and fast response times from fire and medical personnel.
Of the eight largest cities, San Francisco ranks sixth and Los Angeles is in last place. There are response plans for earthquakes, but homes are some of the oldest on average.
Cities were ranked on local plans approved by FEMA, preparation for a widespread health emergency from the CDC, the percentage of new homes and homes in pristine condition and federal ratings for flood protection.
