The Ukrainian community in Sacramento is mourning those killed during violent protests against the government in that country.
About 50 were at the Sunday service to not only remember the people killed in clashes between Kiev police and protesters, but to also show support for the newly formed government.
"We have great sadness in our hearts to see that a lot of people have died over the past few days," one man told News10 at the memorial.
People at the memorial say the dead protesters were considered freedom fighters by most in Sacramento's sizeable Ukrainian community and their cause just.
"I would say its successful, but it's only the beginning," another man said.
Most at the memorial are pleased with changes made thus far in the Ukraine government.
