Napa Valley's earthquake has revived worries about a risk particular to wine country, falling wine barrels.

Vintners say thousands of wine barrels fell from their racks in the August 24th earthquake. They're saying many people would have been in harm's way if the earthquake, which happened at 3:20 a.m., had hit at another time.

Then there's cost.  At Napa's Silver Oak winery, the winery switched to steadier barrel racks years ago, and that move saved them tens of thousands of dollars for each unbroken wine barrel in the earthquake.
