Sammy's Rockin' Island Bar & Grill will re-open in downtown Roseville.

The city -- and the famous rocker -- made the announcement today.

The restaurant, which will double as a venue for live music, will have an island party theme with craft beer and tropical cocktails.

There's no timetable for the re-opening, but Hagar's family has taken over the lease of the 10,000 square feet on Vernon Street. The restaurant closed last November amid finanical difficulties and the disappearance of its co-owner, Steve Pease.

His body was later found off the Sonoma County coast. Hagar said he plans on spending a lot more time in Roseville. He has a home in the Bay Area.
