San Joaquin County Confirms First Case of Measles this Year

Posted May 2nd, 2014 @ 2:06pm by KFBK News

The San Joaquin County health department says they have their first reported case of measles this year.

A young child has the highly contagious virus, and was probably exposed by someone who traveled overseas.

At this point, the health department is tracking down anyone who had contact with this child to make sure they've been properly vaccinated.

They also plan to monitor those exposed.

Fifty-eight cases of measles have been reported statewide this year.
