A man running for the San Joaquin County District Attorney's office is having a hard time staying out of jail himself.
Legal troubles are starting to mount for the 65-year-old Gary Hickey, as he was arrested for suspected public intoxication outside his home on Friday night.
He was later released, but he didn't stay out of jail for long.
About 24 hours later, on Saturday, Hickey was arrested for allegedly assaulting a 50-year-old woman who lives in his home.
Hickey has been either arrested or investigated by police some five times since last summer.
Last month he was accused of assaulting a man who fell and broke a hip during the alleged attack.
That was preceeded by charges for hit-and-run when his vehicle struck a telephone pole and he left the scene in August of last year.
