Search for Woman Missing in Sacramento River Called Off
Posted Thursday, June 19th 2014 @ 7am  by KFBK News - James Rojas

The search is being called off for a missing woman who disappeared while out with friends on the Sacramento River.

Mary Norman, 27, went missing late Tuesday night after she allegedly jumped into the Sacramento River near Sand Cove Beach.

Sacramento Police, with help from the Yolo County Sheriff's Department, scoured the area where the woman went missing.

She had gone out to the river with her boyfriend and friends, where they say she jumped in.

Some are calling her disappearance suspicious because her friends did not report her missing until they docked at Miller's Park, a little more than 5 miles away.

However police say they don't believe there was any foul play and are not sure if the search will be picked up again.

The area where Norman reportedly went missing is known for having a 55-foot hole in the middle of the river, that without a life-vest can possibly pull people down.
