A California state senator is expected to surrender today on federal bribery and corruption charges.

Democrat Ron Calderon is accused of taking bribes from a businessman and undercover FBI agents posing as Hollywood film executives.

The lawmaker has until his scheduled arraignment in Los Angeles this afternoon to turn himself in.

The federal grand jury indictment says Calderon allegedly took an estimated $100,000 in cash, plus plane trips, golf outings and employment opportunities for his children, in exchange for steering legislation.

If convicted, he could face nearly 400 years in prison.
