Senate Democrats are going full steam ahead with another bid to have federal emergency unemployment insurance benefits restored.

Their proposed bi-partisan bill is opposed by Republican House Speaker John Boehner.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California says the GOP is standing in the way of the government doing the right thing.

"Months have gone by, over 2 million people have not received their unemployment benefits -- those on long-term unemployment -- and the fact is, this is a stimulus to the economy," Pelosi said.

Emergency jobless benefits expired back in late December.

Boehner wants some reform measures placed on the unemployment insurance, including rules that prohibit millionaires from collecting benefits.
