Officers arrested a San Francisco man who robbed a gas station in Vallejo and then attempted to flee in a stolen truck Saturday morning.

At about 8:20 a.m. police responded to a report of an armed robbery in progress at the Chemco gas station at the intersection of Springs Road and Maple Avenue.

While the clerk locked himself in a janitor’s closet, the suspect took money from the register.

The suspect, later identified as 45-year-old Eric Johnson, drove away from the gas station in a reddish orange Chevrolet truck. Police were able to track him down. Johnson attempted to flee after a chase and officers caught up and arrested him.
