We all know that cab rides tend to be dramatic, but last night's ride gave even police a shock.
It started about 10:15 Sunday night at a 7-11 on Watt and Whitney avenues.
"A male had taken a car from a taxi driver after beating him," Sacramento County Sheriff spokeswoman Sgt. Lisa Bowman said.
The 38-year-old suspect reportedly then drove the cab onto westbound Highway 50 leading deputies on a high-speed chase before they cornered him.
That didn't stop the determined driver though as he "rammed a patrol vehicle and was able to get away again," Bowman said.
Deputies say they finally stopped the cab near 5th and V streets in Sacramento.
The man was arrested and will be charged with carjacking and assault with a deadly weapon due to the ramming incident.
Police are also looking into a driving under the influence charge.
