Small Business Owners Urging Sacramento Lawmakers to Stop Lawsuit Abuse
Posted March 22nd, 2014 @ 3:15pm by KFBK News

About 150 small business owners across California are urging Sacramento lawmakers to pass legislation that would stop lawsuit abuse.

Debra Greene from Los Angeles says a bar owner in Torrence was hit with five of these lawsuits that cost her nearly forty-thousand dollars.

The bar owner says if these lawsuits continue, she will have to close the doors to her businesses because they will deplete all her money.

She and other business owners say they are getting slammed with lawsuits that claim they are violating the Americans with Disabilities act.

The owners end up settling for thousands of dollars without having a chance to fix the problem which tends to be minor, such as the bathroom mirror being too high.
