NSA leaker Edward Snowden says he has no regrets about leaking documents regarding the U.S. government's secret surveillance efforts against some Americans.

Snowden was making a rare appearance via teleconference at the South by Southwest Interactive Festival in Austin, Texas.

He told members of the tech conference audience that they should begin work on helping him "fix" the government's surveillance efforts against its own citizens.

Snowden gave his remarks from Russia, where he remains on the lam from U.S. law enforcement agents.
