You can expect speed limit signs changing in Sacramento. A city traffic study led to the decision to reduce speed limits in some areas by five miles-per-hour.

Hector Barron with the city of Sacramento Traffic Divisions says these changes will increase pedestrian safety and ease traffic congestion in certain areas.

"Sometimes when we do those studies conditions may have changed slightly with a no roadway and the study will indicate that the speed limit should be different than what's posted," said Barron.

Barron adds his studies are required for the roadways to maintain their certified enforcement status.
