A state lawmaker wants Congress to look toward military aircraft built in the Golden State as part of the next federal budget.

"National security is a top priority, that jobs and the aerospace industry is a top priority for Californians," said Assemblyman Al Muratsuchi.

He continued to say that Congress needs to know that creating jobs for the aerospace industry is a top priority in California.

He says thousands of jobs could be lost if nothing is done before programs to build aircraft like the Boeing F-A-18 Super Hornet end in the next few years.

He wants the military to add more aircraft built around Southern California to its fleets.
