There's still no sign of debris from the missing airliner as air and sea searches continue in the Indian Ocean.

Australia has sent four aircrafts to an area about 15-hundred miles southwest of Perth. A local expert warns debris spotted from a distance can be almost anything. He says you never know what it might be. It could be debris floating across from what happened in Japan a year and a half ago.

Mike Menz is a former Sacramento County Sheriff and Civil Air Patroller with experience looking for plane debris.

The debris in question was spotted almost a week ago in waters west of Australia and if the plane is found in that particular area, it might never be recovered. Where they have it located currently is two miles below the water, Menz says.

Bad weather in the area has slowed the search.
