Council members are criticizing Mayor Anthony Silva's choice of material during a story time gone wrong at a Stockton grade school.
Stockton's mayor is being criticized for sharing stories of his political career with during what was supposed to be story time for the kids. He didn't have a book with him, so he told the youngsters about a vote on condom legislation and the Cleveland School shooting from years ago.
"I could not understand why the mayor would go into issues that were totally outside of what he was there for" Elbert Holman told News 10.
Holman is among three council members who say the mayor blew it. Mayor Silva admits he made a mistake, but says he went with Plan-B after he was given an inappropriate book by a staffer.
