A new study shows a total of 10,000 children in the U.S. are either injured or killed by guns every year.

The study was conducted by the Yale School of Medicine.

The most recent data shows that since 2009, almost 4,600 gunshot injuries suffered by kids and teens were intentional assaults, while more than 2,000 were accidental.

One expert on gun policy is suggesting to make it illegal for anyone under 21 to own a firearm, because of the high rate of homicide between 18-to-20-year-olds.
