For many Americans, Internet access is something they just can't live without.
In a new poll conducted by Harris Interactive for Mashable.com, access to the web was named one of the top three most basic needs.
Seventy-three percent of respondents said the one thing that can't live without is food, followed by 42 percent who named a car and 28 percent who named the Internet.
Close behind the Internet comes the mobile phone, which 24 percent of respondents said they couldn't live without.
The top ten most basic needs of modern living also include a television, sex, a GPS or navigation system, social networking sites and a tablet computer.
