Once does not appear to be enough in Yolo County.

Supervisors reportedly want a second grand jury to investigate Sheriff Ed Prieto.

In a letter signed by chairman Don Saylor, the board of supervisors requested that this grand jury dig even deeper than the first into allegations Sheriff Prieto engages in favoritism, nepotism, and has given preferential treatment to certain employees.

The sheriff denies the allegations.

The letter also asks if evidence supports the first grand jury findings that the second grand jury should recommend appropriate actions.

Sheriff Prieto reportedly calls the report from the first grand jury unprofessional and claims it's based on interviews with a small fraction of employees.

The board of supervisors are saying they take this all very seriously.
