Hernando Villa, 23, has been booked on charges of DUI, hit-and-run with injury or death, driving on a suspended license and vehicular manslaughter.

Police say Villa was the driver of a car that hit a parked truck early Tuesday morning, killing his passenger, 17-year-old Maricela Baza, who had just graduated from Calvine High School.

Villa allegedly ran from the scene, leaving Baza in the car either dead or dying.

Police caught him shortly after when he was found unconscious in the driveway of a nearby home.

He was transported to the hospital the night of the incident, and was released to the Sacramento County Main Jail late last night.
