The suspect in a midtown murder is in custody.

Mohammad Khan, 34, was wanted in connection with the killing of Kelsey Snyder in her midtown Sacramento apartment on June 28.

The U.S. Border Patrol arrested him as he tried to enter Mexico.

"We were working right now with the FBI to get him in custody for us," Sacramento Police spokeswoman Michele Gigante said.

It's believed Khan and Snyder had been dating, but no motive for the murder has been established.

The manner of death has not been released but investigators said it was believed Khan had a gun.
