Suspected Drunk Driving Caused AM Crash in North Highlands

A teen suspected of being drunk and stealing her mothers Cadillac allegedly went on a rampage in North Highlands this morning.  Sergeant Lisa Bowman says a caller told Sheriff's about her smashing into cars and when they arrived on scene she took off.

"A short distance away at Madison and Hillsdale at the Trinity Church, the car had been involved in an accident, she ran into a utility pole at which point she still tried to get out of the vehicle to run away from us," Bowman explained.

That crash happened at the intersection of Hillsdale and Madison.  Sheriff's deputies caught up with the girl, who was also injured in the crash.  She's since been transported to the hospital and, following treatment, will be booked on numerous charges, including felony vandalism and DUI.
