Detectives have arrested a teenager who is accused of killing a man inside his home this past Father's Day.
A 16-year-old is under arrest for allegedly shooting and killing 54-year-old Billy Joe Stidman.
Deputies responded to Stidman's home on Sunday on Dolphin Way after receiving reports of a shooting.
When they got there, they found the Stidman suffering from major injuries. He was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Sgt. Lisa Bowman with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department says the teenager got into some sort of confrontation with the victim.
"This was an invited guests from of the teenagers that Mr. Stidman and his wife were not aware of. This resulted in a confrontation which turned out the way it did, unfortunately," Bowman said.
The teen is believed to have displayed a gun he brought inside the home and shot Stidman in the abdomen.
He's being held in juvenile detention and is facing charges of felony murder.
