A teen accused of the murder of a former Marine is being charged as adult.
Jacob Wilcoxen, the 16-year-old accused of fatally shooting a Rio Linda man in his home on Father's Day has been charged as an adult.
He was arraigned last week on a charge of murdering Bill Stidman, 54, a former Marine and police officer.
The teen's name can now be used because he is being charged as an adult.
It was determined by the Sacramento County sheriff's detectives the shooting followed an argument between Stidman and Wilcoxen after the teen was invited over to the Dolphin Way home by one of Stidman's foster children.
According to Stidman's family, he and his wife, Jean, had been foster parents for several years.
They most recently were caring for several foster children ranging from 8- to 16-years-old. Wilcoxen is scheduled to appear in court July 3.
