Still putting off working on your taxes? The state may have actually done them for you.
About 2 million Californians qualify under the "ReadyReturn" program, which takes last year's filings and this year's payroll information to pre-fill all the necessary paperwork online.
"Review it, and if you like it and everything looks correct, you just accept it and it's done," Dan Tahara with the Franchise Tax Board said.
Tahara says those with pretty simple cases qualify.
"People who have one job, maybe they have some interest and some dividends, and they claim the standard deduction," he said.
ReadyReturn is free through the FTB's website.
There's another e-file program called CalFile for returns that are a bit more complicated. It usually takes about half an hour.
