Lace up! The USA Track and Field Championships are officially here. And one big name is happy to be back in Sacramento.
"I love this place, and I'm looking forward to running again," said Sanya Richards-Ross, who's basically the female face of track and field.
The four-time Olympic gold medalist says fans here understand what a fast time is and thanks to the new track at Hornet Stadium, they'll be in luck.
This isn't like your workout.
"People go on, and they go for a run. You run a mile, and whatever your time is ... Then you come out here and you see guys breaking four minutes, and you see girls running less than a minute in the 400," she said.
She'll be out of the blocks tomorrow, but competition began today with a show of strength at Capitol Park -- shotput was moved out of a stadium for the first time.
A few hundred people were there -- a good year to have drought restrictions on the lawn.
