Interstate 80 is getting back to normal after an officer-involved shooting in Solano County last night closed parts of the freeway for several hours.

A CHP officer was involved in a shooting last night on Interstate 80 going eastbound -- near the Pedrick Road.

The suspect was wanted for assault with a deadly weapon in Sacramento.

Solano County CHP officer Chris Parker says when officers pulled over the suspect, he came out with a sawed off shotgun and charged officers.

"The other officer on scene at the time fired one round from his department-issued shotgun, striking the subject. The subject went down," Parker said.

The suspect was taken to Kaiser Vacaville. No further word on his condition. No officers were hurt in the shooting.
