Tribal Leader Facing Charges of Murder, Theft

Tribal Eviction is among the worst punishments for American Indians. The tribe at Cedar Creek Rancheria near Alturas in Northern California, are meeting to consider just that for former tribal leader and family member Cherie Lash Rhoades, accused of stealing 50 thousand dollars in federal money meant for the tribe. She killed 4 and wounded 2 others with a gun on Thursday, switching to a butchers knife when the gun ran out of ammo. One of the witnesses, a Rocklin woman, spoke to News10 saying it happened during a routine meeting.

Those who know Rhoades didn't have many kind words for her, except to say you should avoid getting on her bad side. Rhoades has yet to appear in court, and is being held in an undisclosed location in Modoc county.
