Two wildfires burning on the California-Oregon border have become the focus of state and federal firefighters.

Fire units from all over California are being sent to help in the firefighting effort -- after Governor Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency for more than a dozen wildfires burning in the state.

The Bald Fire that started from a lightning strike in the Lassen National Forest has burned nearly 40,000 acres in just five days.

Meanwhile the Eiler Fire is threatening the town of Burney, where officials at Mayer Memorial Hospital decided to evacuate long-term care patients.

The Burney Fire has burned some 26,000 acres.

Brown secured a federal grant to cover 75 percent of the cost to fight the blaze.
