Two Wisconsin Guard Members Punished Over Infamous Funeral Photo
Posted February 20th, 2014 @ 6:54pm by KFBK News - Amy Lewis

The Wisconsin National Guard members who admitted to posting a picture of soldiers mocking military funerals on Instagram has some local members outraged.

The caption reads "We put the FUN in funeral" and you see soldiers smiling and making funny poses while standing around the casket. Retired Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Palumbo, director of the California Military Museum in Old Sacramento told the KFBK Morning News, what these soldiers did was reprehensible.

"You can't defend it.  It's just immature, it's wrong, and I am sure that the Wisconsin National Guard leadership will appropriate, immediate actions for what these soldiers did," Palumbo said.

The leadership indeed has. Two members of the Wisconsin National Guard have been punished. One soldier was suspended after it was discovered that she put the images on Instagram, and now another has been reassigned over comments he posted online.
