In a time of rising college costs, students at UC Davis voted to tax themselves in order to keep the campus newspaper alive. The newspaper is 99 years old, and would have ceased operations in June due to bankruptcy. The vote required 20 percent participation, with 27 percent of the campus actually casting ballots on Friday. Supporters cheered the news but it isn't a done deal quite yet as the fee must still be approved by both the UCD Chancellor and UC President Janet Napolitano, can scrap the fee altogether...
