Police in San Francisco have given the all-clear after investigating a suspicious package in Union Square.

They received reports of the package just before noon at Stockton and Powell streets and determined that it didn't pose any danger by 1:30 p.m.

During the incident people in the area were advised to shelter in place as a precaution but that has now been lifted.

As streets are reopened, drivers should expect residial delays in the area.
