Mark Jackson has been fired by the Warriors.
The former NBA guard with the Knicks, Pacers and Clippers led the Warriors to 51 wins this season before falling in seven games to the Clippers.
Jackson had issues with his staff including when Brian Scalabrine was reassigned and Darenn Erman who was dismissed after surreptitiously recording private coaches staff meetings and ownership was not steadfast with their support throughout this season.
The NBA coaching carousel will really begin now as TNT NBA Analyst Steve Kerr has been widely expected to take the NY Knicks job and work for his former coach with the Chicago Bulls and erstwhile Knicks player and President of Basketball Operations for the Knicks, Phil Jackson.
However, now as the Warriors roster is laden with talent Kerr, along with former Orlando Magic Coach Stan Van Gundy, current Iowa State Coach Fred Hoiberg and others are in the mix.
Byron Scott, John Calipari of Kentucky, Brian Shaw, Denver's Head Coach and Tom Thibodeau, Bulls Head Coach are names that have popped up in Los Angeles.
Of course, huge obstacles are there for Shaw and Thibodeau as they're currently under contract.
Also if Indiana goes down to Washington expect Larry Bird to clean house as Head Coach Frank Vogel's status is tenuous as is the current makeup of the roster.
So Mark Jackson could end up back where he toiled in the NBA for at least part of his career, e.g., New York and Indiana.
