Even with the weather heating up for the next few days, if you live in Sacramento, you'll still need to to abide by the city's watering rules.

If your address ends with an odd number you're allowed to water on Tuesday's and Saturdays. Even numbered properties can be watered on Wednesday's and Sundays.

'We require that folks water before 10am and after 7pm,' says spokeswoman Jessica Hess.

She warns customers who disregard the rules could be fined: 'If you happen to see over-watering or misuse or someone watering on the wrong day, we ask that you give the city a call at 3-1-1.'

The Utilities Department offers a number of tools to help you save water - including water meters, conservation workshops and rebates for using high-efficiency appliances and low-flow toilets.
