NWA has allowed the tornado warnings for Butte, Tahama to expire, the weather pattern has weakened and the warning will not be reissued for the area.

STO issues Tornado Warning for Butte, Tehama [CA] till 9:15 PM PDT

Update as of 8:11pm

A Tornado warning is being issued for Butte, Glenn and Tehama counties -- until 8:30 pm -- You're asked to seek shelter in an interior room, bathroom, closet.

If you're in a vehicle, get inside a nearby building or lay flat in a ditch and cover your head. The location includes Nord and Highway 99 north of CHico in Western Butte County.


News 10 is reporting that rain and snow in the morning will clear out a bit by the afternoon, which will set up the valley for possible thunderstorms. Some of these storms could be severe with rotation. It's possible to see an isolated tornado. Highs drop to the low 60's.

WINTER STORM WARNING for the Sierra until 5am Sunday. Snow expected through the day for the Sierra with snow level near 6,000 feet then dropping to below 5,000 feet overnight.

SUNDAY: Some lingering showers in the valley and Sierra. Valley highs in the lower 60's. Sierra highs near 40.

MONDAY-TUESDAY: Another weather system moves inland with a chance of rain developing through Monday and lasting through Tuesday. Highs near 60. Chance of thunderstorms. Sierra highs in the 30's with Monday overnight snow levels dropping into the upper foothills.
