The sequel to "300" is winning the battle at the box office.
With 45-million in receipts, "300: Rise of an Empire" beat the competition to rise to number one this weekend. Taking second place is "Mr. Peabody & Sherman," which earned 32-point-five-million dollars to become the only other new film to land in the top ten on the list.
"Non-Stop" is stopping at number three in its second week in theaters, adding another 15-point-four-million to its total. "The Lego Movie," with earnings of eleven-million dollars, and "Son of God," which made another ten-million, round out the top five.
