West Sacramento Doubles Up on Plans to Revitalize Riverfront

West Sacramento may double up on plans to revitalize its riverfront.

City officials have some big proposals for three miles worth of property along the Sacramento River.

We've previously reported on a project called "The Barn," an outdoor events center near Raley Field with extra space for something like a farmer's market or even a beer garden.

Now, they're looking into overhauling the Pioneer Bluff area as well, that's the land across the water from Sacramento's marina.

There's a planned bridge in from Broadway and city officials say more traffic could, and should, lead to a change from an industrial area to a more urban one.
