Despite last week's rain in Central and Northern California, the state remains in a serious drought situation.

California Farm Bureau President Paul Wenger says his industry is not alone in feeling the impact of the prolonged dry period.

"It's not just the farmers and ranchers and the farmhands, the folks that are directly on the farm, but it's everybody between there and the consumer," he said.

Wenger says the recent rain caused flooding in many rural areas underwater but farmers and ranchers aren't complaining -- they're just happy to see rain.
