The homeless woman captured on camera being repeatedly punched by a CHP officer in the Los Angeles area is filing a civil rights lawsuit over the incident. And asking for a criminal charge as well.
"We are urging the FBI, which is why we're here, to press attempted murder charges against the officer," Caree Harper, attorney for Marlene Pinnock said.
A passerby captured Pinnock being thrown to the ground and punched roughly a dozen times by a CHP officer along the Santa Monica Freeway on July 1.
Pinnock's attorney says such punches could have killed the woman, who did nothing to deserve such a beating.
The CHP is still investigating the incident and is not commenting on the lawsuit.
