An amazing story of survival: A woman made it out alive after her car took a big drop off the road and into a Sacramento canal.

This crash happened near the intersection of 65th Street and Elder Creek.

The unidentified woman was heading south on 65th when she says she lost control of the car.

She ended up going through a chain-link fence before the car flipped and dropped 30 feet into a drainage canal.

The car landed on it's roof and the woman -- who was alone inside -- had to be extricated.

News10 reports she was conscious and talking when she was taken out of the car.

She told rescuers she had just gotten out of the hospital -- she still had a tag on her wrist when pulled from the car.

The extent of her injuries weren't disclosed, but she didn't appear to be seriously hurt.
