If you get a call demanding money because you didn't report for jury duty -- beware. It's a scam.

Yolo County Sheriff Ed Prieto said people are receiving phone calls from a person claiming to be a sheriff's office employee who demands a payment to clear up an outstanding warrant.

The callers are being told the warrant was issued because they did not show up for required jury duty and have to pay a fine to clear it up.

Sheriff Prieto says the calls are fraudulent and have no connection to the Sheriff's Office.
