A Yolo County elementary school teacher is accused of stealing medication from students with special needs.

Detectives are investigating 14-year-veteran Seri Hasselhuhn for allegedly stealing medication from some of her students at Delta Elementary Charter.

CBS 13 says when school officials first noticed medicine missing from the student's medication room, they turned to surveillance video that gave everyone a surprise.

Hasselhuhn was arrested and police say the investigation is still ongoing.

The schools principal, Steve Lewis, says the safety of the children is the No. 1 priority, and wanted to let parents know when they found out, they took immediate action.
