Rising River Threatens Pirate Themed Restaurant

The heavy rains along with rising creek and river levels are taking a toll on some Northern California business's.  Along Garden Highway in Sacramento boat slips and floating restaurants are riding high. 

At Swabbies on the Sacramento River the water is rising, but they are not ready to sink into Davy Jones Locker.  The summer time hot spot is still open.

Normally Swabbies sits about 20-feet above the Sacramento River, but owner Chris Barbino says  it was was all hands on deck last week, as they moved picnic tables, bar supplies  and a half dozen life size pirate figures moved to higher ground.

Barbino, who has owned Swabbies for 13 years, it taking the risk of flooding in stride.  In fact, he says he is even considering a storm drink special.
