The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control has awarded a $100,000 grant to the Sacramento Police Department to thwart alcohol-related crimes. The grant is just one of 52 being handed out across the state to local law enforcement offices.

Officials said the funds will target businesses that illegally sell to minors. Authorities said the offending businesses can face fines, licensing suspensions or revocations if they are caught violating the law.
