KFBK Morning News Show Recap - Friday August 20th

Leads:

  1. The Caldor Fire continues to burn in El Dorado this morning with zero containment. As of 7 am this morning, Cal Fire reports the blaze is now over 73,000 acres. The losses are still being counted, but 7,000 structures are still threatened and more than 25,000 people have been evacuated.
  2. State regulators are banning insurers from canceling homeowners threatened by two of this year's largest wildfires. Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara issued the one-year moratorium yesterday, protecting nearly 26,000 policyholders near the Lava and Beckwourth Complex Fires. Counties included in the moratorium include Plumas, Lassen and Siskiyou.
  3. At approximately 10:00am President Biden will deliver remarks on Afghanistan. We will provide live coverage here on KFBK.
